Not sure why. The vibration, the air brakes, the noise, the sometimes odd smells that aren&#8217;t entirely unpleasant? Maybe all of those things. Maybe the idea of &#8220;shared travel,&#8221; of moving together, of working as a unit. Maybe bus travel sparks the zen of connectedness in me. And it&#8217;s on the ground. It&#8217;s not in the air. It&#8217;s not in an airtight tube. It&#8217;s not recycled air. It&#8217;s better. It&#8217;s real.
